Dim’er Kheertua

Some milk powder were there at home and from few days I was planning to make something out of it but could not manage time. Finally today it’s done.

After lunch I started making it and my little son who is back from his school was getting the smell of some sweet on making. Me and he both like sweet and he was happy thinking that Mammaa is preparing something good today.

So let’s start with the recipe

Ingredients

2 cups of milk powder

1 egg

3-4 cardamom

1 bay leaf

4-5 tablespoon of sugar

1-2 liter milk

Some rose petals

2 pinch of saffron

Few pumpkin seeds and raisins for garnishing (optional)

In a mixing bowl, beat an egg. In it add the milk powder and mix well.

The mixture will be wet and it should be like that perfect for making it soft.

Grease your hands with ghee and start making small cylindrical shapes out of it.

Make the rest of the mixture in the same process and keep aside.

Now boil 1/2 liter of milk with crushed cardamom, sugar and bay leaf.

When the milk is done with one boil, simmer the heat and add the rolls in it. Boil them for 10 minutes and stir in between with soft hands so that they don’t break.

Sprinkle a pinch of saffron to it and off the flame.

Now plate it and garnish it rose petals and seeds.

We all relished it and our neighbours too.

The taste was really superb and its creamy texture made it more yummy. Everything was perfect.

Tips : Don’t make the dough tight which may make it hard.
