Pera

What are you making for this Janmashtami?

Krishna Jayanti is being celebrated in different parts of India with different types of sweets and savoury items. I made some coconut and semolina peras this time.

These pera are very easy to make and quick recipe with simple ingredients. So let’s start with the recipe.

Ingredients

2-3 cups of semolina

Sugar 3 cups

Coconut 2 cups finely grated

1 tablespoon of cardamom powder

4 tablespoon of ghee

Heat a kadai with ghee and roast the semolina for 7-10 minutes till it turns golden. Stir continuously for even roasting.

Now add the coconut and again stir for 5 minutes.

Next add sugar, cardamom powder and mix well. Roast for 6-7 minutes then add heavy full cream milk to it.

Now cook it stirring thoroughly for 10 minutes till it binds little tight.

Off the flame and let it cool for sometime.

Now grease your hands and take lemon size portion from the dough and make small flat peras out of it. Keep a raisin over each pera and garnish.

Ready to serve for Nanda Gopal
